I really can’t get some teens nowadays. I don’t know if it is a sign of old age of maybe the younger generation’s understanding of things is just different from that of my generation. I was up until 3AM earlier and I read about the exchange of a blogger and a follower on a teen’s sense of humor making fun of another person’s facial features. The blogger was getting pestered by the teen’s followers and was being told that maybe she has lost her sense of humor. The teen is only fourteen, while the blogger is I think 23. So there’s almost a decade of difference between the two.
I do think it was bad on the part of the teen to post a picture of someone’s face and poke fun at it just because the person didn’t look like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, or David Beckham. No one should make fun of another person’s facial features. To laugh at someone just because the person’s face doe snot conform to the commercially promoted concept of beauty is simply prejudicial. Maybe the teen didn’t know that the Nazis did the same against the Jews pointing out how different and funny the noses and hairs of the Jews look like compared with the so-called Aryan features of the Germanic people.
It actually feels funny knowing that some teen’s sense of humor is only pinned on the facial characteristics of another person. I actually don’t think that’s a sense of humor at all. When someone makes fun of you because you don’t fit their ideal, that’s simply pathetic!
