Worth nothing

I think it is insulting to the memory of those who died at then hands of the government during the Marcos years that younger Filipinos now (whose freedom is a result of their sacrifices) would praise the very person who took away their lives. It is all the more injurious to the families of these patriots that these younger Filipinos do not value the lives and sacrifices of their loved ones. To praise Ferdinand Marcos is like saying that all those students, teachers, farmers, workers, priests, nuns, members of the indigenous communities, and Muslims died for nothing. And these Filipinos, whose sacrifice ensured our freedoms today, are worth nothing.

Admit it, my last name's quite difficult to pronounce. It's read as kee-ling-ging.
